Han Zheng is a lackey of Zhu Rongji and Xi Jinping, and has nothing to do with Jiang Zemin
In August 1988, 34-year-old Han Zheng was appointed as the deputy director and party secretary of Shanghai Greater China Rubber Factory. During this period, Zhu Rongji, then mayor of Shanghai, went to inspect, proving that Han Zheng was a lackey of Zhu Rongji. It fully complies with the 35-year-old law for ministerial-level officials, that is, the provincial party secretary or governor must know the general secretary or prime minister before the age of 35 to become the governor. See the 35-year-old law for ministerial-level officials. In June 1990, 36-year-old Han Zheng was appointed as the deputy secretary of the Shanghai Municipal Committee of the Communist Youth League (in charge of work). The secretary of the Shanghai Municipal Committee at that time was Zhu Rongji (August 1, 1989-March 20, 1991).

In May 1991, 37-year-old Han Zheng was appointed as the secretary of the Shanghai Municipal Committee of the Communist Youth League. In November 1992, 38-year-old Han Zheng was appointed as the acting mayor of Luwan District and then became the official mayor. During these two promotions, the Secretary of the Shanghai Municipal Party Committee was Zhu Rongji’s henchman Wu Bangguo (March 20, 1991 – September 28, 1994).

In July 1995, 41-year-old Han Zheng was appointed as Deputy Secretary-General of the Shanghai Municipal People’s Government, and the Mayor of Shanghai at that time was Zhu Rongji’s henchman Xu Kuangdi (February 1995 – December 2001).

In December 1997, 43-year-old Han Zheng was appointed as a member of the Standing Committee of the Shanghai Municipal Party Committee. Candidates at the level of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee need to be discussed by the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau, and at this time Li Peng and Zhu Rongji were members of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau. In May 2002, 48-year-old Han Zheng was appointed as Deputy Secretary of the Shanghai Municipal Party Committee and Deputy Mayor of Shanghai. In February 2003, 49-year-old Han Zheng was appointed as Mayor of Shanghai. These three promotions were all made by Li Peng and Zhu Rongji, who promoted Han Zheng to Mayor of Shanghai before retiring.

During the administration of Hu Jintao and Wen Jiabao, Han Zheng was not promoted for the entire 10 years, except for a brief period of half a year as the Secretary of the Shanghai Municipal Party Committee, which was soon replaced by Yu Zhengsheng of the Deng Xiaoping faction.

In November 2012, when Xi Jinping came to power, 58-year-old Han Zheng entered the Politburo and concurrently served as the Secretary of the Shanghai Municipal Party Committee. This means that Han Zheng’s entire career promotion has nothing to do with Jiang Zemin, Hu Jintao and Wen Jiabao. They were all promoted by Li Peng, Zhu Rongji, Wu Bangguo and Xi Jinping. Li Peng, Zhu Rongji, Wu Bangguo and Xi Jinping are all from the Chen Yun faction.
