身为红三代的薄瓜瓜与政商背景雄厚的台湾女孩联姻持续成为话题，传出中国也透过各种管道探询消息。梁文杰称，北京在意不在意，或是有没有探听，并非陆委会要考虑的；陆委会只会需要顾及申请案是否符合人伦之常和台湾的法律制度。梁文杰表示，中共对薄熙来、薄瓜瓜有点防范，网路只要提到就会被消失，但这和台湾政府是否批准薄瓜瓜来台风马牛不相干。
1993年3月48岁的曹志斌担任湖南省娄底地委书记。当时的湖南省委书记是熊清泉（1988年5月－1993年9月），熊清泉是朱镕基中学的同学。1995年4月，50岁的曹志斌任湖南省委副秘书长。当时的湖南省委书记是王茂林（1993年9月 – 1998年10月），薄熙来的老爸薄一波1991年左右出了一本书，《七十年的回顾与思考》，王茂林给了30万，山西省给了30万。
