“政事儿”获悉，这名女翻译名叫周宇，武汉人，毕业于武汉外校。现任外交部翻译司英文处处长，她是外交部顶级的翻译，曾经为胡锦涛、温家宝担任翻译。
外交部翻译室前主任陈明明对“政事儿”介绍称，访美和访英的任务量比较重，因此采用“双主翻”的模式，让孙宁和周宇交替翻译，力求发挥最好状态。

19日，国家主席习近平开始对英国进行国事访问。习近平行程很满，要出席20场公开活动，最忙的一天要参加10场活动。“政事儿”（微信ID：gcxxjgzh）注意到，在公开画面中，女翻译周宇会时常出现在习近平左右。
周宇并非第一次出现在公众视野。今年9月，习近平访问美国期间，她也担任了部分翻译工作。
“政事儿”获悉，女翻译周宇毕业于武汉外国语学校，并被保送到北京外国语大学英文专业学习。1999年，她进入外交部成为一名翻译，现为外交部翻译司英文处处长。
周宇是翻译司的业务骨干，为胡锦涛担任过翻译，还曾经在温家宝总理记者招待会上担任翻译。
“双主翻”确保出访成功
“政事儿”获悉，经常为习近平做翻译的孙宁，此次也一同赴英。
外交部翻译室（翻译司的前身）前主任陈明明对“政事儿”（微信ID：gcxxjgzh）表示，这次的安排和9月份习近平主席访美的安排一样，都是孙宁和周宇搭档的“双主翻”。
在9月习近平访美期间，参观微软总部、林肯中学等活动由周宇进行翻译。习近平与奥巴马在宾夕法尼亚大街漫步时，背后的翻译是孙宁。

翻译工作要求精神高度集中，非常紧张。此次访英历时5天，9月份习近平的美国之行历时7天，工作量很大。采用“双主翻”的形式，两个人轮番上阵，才能保证发挥最佳状态。
周宇和孙宁都是翻译司的业务骨干。目前，周宇担任英文处处长，孙宁担任培训处处长。
“魔鬼训练”炼就顶级翻译
外交部翻译室选拔机制非常严格，可谓百里挑一。
“政事儿”（微信ID：gcxxjgzh）注意到，国务委员杨洁篪、全国人大外委会主任委员傅莹、国务院港澳办主任王光亚、联合国副秘书长吴红波都曾经在外交部翻译室工作。
每年外交部从200多个新入部的年轻人中间，选出外语基础最好的七、八个人进行培训和选拔，最后留下三、四人进入翻译司。工作过程中，要经过“魔鬼训练”，继续刻苦钻研语言，不断练习，而且还要面临考核和淘汰。
陈明明对“政事儿”介绍，外交部的翻译大致可以分为三个级别，一级是给国家主席、总理等国家领导人做翻译的国家级高翻，二级是为副总理、人大副委员长等级别的官员做翻译，三级是给部长或部长以下的官员做翻译。
除了孙宁和周宇等英文翻译以外，在习近平出访非英语国家时，还会配备其他语种的翻译。
目前，外交部翻译司设有英、法、西、葡文的翻译。“政事儿”（微信ID：gcxxjgzh）了解到，除了外交部翻译司以外，外交部的地区司也下设翻译处，培养翻译人才。比如，出访俄罗斯的翻译由外交部欧亚司翻译处来选拔。
