阿基诺说，菲方高度重视发展对华关系，把菲中关系视为最重要的双边关系之一，愿意进一步发展双边关系，加深两国人民几个世纪以来结下的深厚友谊。
胡锦涛表示，中方愿同菲方共同努力：
（一）着眼长远，确保中菲关系健康稳定发展。双方要进一步落实好2005年两国领导人就建立中菲致力于和平与发展的战略性合作关系达成的重要政治共识和《中菲战略性合作共同行动计划》，推动中菲关系全面深入向前发展。

（五）开放包容，推动区域合作协调发展。中方愿以中国－东盟建立对话关系20周年和实施中国－东盟第二份五年行动计划为契机，继续推进双方在经济金融、互联互通、可持续发展、社会人文等领域的交流合作，为维护东亚和平稳定、促进共同发展发挥建设性作用。
